"The last 15 years, we visited Key West in December for 2-3 weeks. We are a couple from Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Europe and we like Key West very much, completely different from Miami and we discovered it by chance. We stayed in different guest houses but last December was our 4th time staying at Westwinds. Westwinds is in the center, close to Duval Street, but quiet, a beautiful garden and 2 (two) pools, one cold and one warm (very good after playing tennis) and close to the beach! Westwinds has a good price when you stay longer than a few days, and a good breakfast near the pool in the garden is included. Each year there was another manager in Westwinds, but last year was the first time we saw the manager (Susie Menez) almost every day to say hello, check how we are doing or if everything is all right. She even gave free tickets for the art deco Tropic Cinema (just 5 minutes walk) and helped us with bike rental, excursions, etc. O yeah! We love the weather, the beautiful trees and plants, no high buildings, good restaurants, good to play tennis, to walk, to ride bike, to shop, the cats and the chickens, the romantic Tropic cinema and the theaters, etc. We will come back in December 2009." (Eddie S., Amsterdam, the Netherlands)
"Staying at Westwinds is a delightful, laid-back way to experience Key West. We start the day with fruit,
cereal and coffee by the pool either chatting with other guests or reading the local paper, perhaps a walk down Duval Street
or along the Waterfront. Then we enjoy the quiet setting of the gardens or cooling off in the pool.
Westwinds is a tropical enclave only found in Old Town Key West with clean rooms, a friendly helpful staff, and even a resident cat named Pumpkin.
We've found the great place to stay in Key West and so keep returning and recommending it to friends." (Mike S. from North Carolina)
I now have happy and joyous memories of Key West and am hoping that I will be able to return one day with my husband and once again experience the comforts of Westwinds. The staff were polite and very helpful. The setting was beautifully serene and tropical. Westwinds is very convenient for everything offered at Key West. My room was bright and comfortable. The poolside breakfast was pleasant, adequate and delicious. The lounge and library area are an added bonus. Both pools are in a picturesque setting and kept very clean. The flowers, shrubs and walkways in the grounds are beautiful. All is extremely clean and well kept. Management makes sure that guests are well cared for and not disturbed. The quaint and quiet atmosphere at Westwinds is complimented by the beautiful Victorian setting. The "home from home" feeling that is created makes for a very comfortable and relaxed vacation." (J. Rogers, Forsyth, USA)
"Thank you very much for your hospitality. My brother and I were very happy to have a
quiet and lovely place to stay in Key West. We were so happy we found Westwinds.
Westwinds Inn was suggested to me by the Innkeeper's Association of Key West, after searching the Internet for hours. We needed a nice place to stay for one night, within walking distance of the ferry terminal, as were were arriving on the shuttle from Ft. Meyers. It was three blocks. Perfect. We could feel the relaxation kick in the minute we walked in the door. After a warm welcome and a tour, we walked to the dock area for lunch at Raw Bar - about 4 blocks. Perfect again. The walk to Duval Street is a bit of a longer walk, but we were glad to be away from the noise of the bars and all the crowds. Westwinds was a quiet oasis, close enough to go back and forth. The breakfast area, pool areas, and lounge cottage were a delight. So peaceful, lush and tropical. The folks in the office could not have been nicer. We'll be going back, without a doubt. Thank you, everyone!" (Karen D. & Bob K., Louisville, Kentucky)
"I started my experience with the Westwinds Inn back in January 2010. Since January, I have been using this hotel for all my groups' programs in Key West. All my groups have been treated like royalty by the entire staff! The hotel managers have gone out of their way to ensure that all of our needs have been met. They have handled our group needs and have been on top of EVERY detail. The staff at Westwinds is for sure the best in Key West. Not only the service is exceptional. The meals are superb, accommodations 5 star, and all around individual attention far above the norm. My group enjoyed the individual attention shown by the management. With service, accommodation, and location like this we would never go anywhere else! Thank you Westwinds for making all our visits so GREAT!!" (World Events, Orlando, Florida)
"Our stay in paradise December 19-28, 2012. We
always enjoy staying at Westwinds every time we go to Key West.
Susie and everyone at Westwinds are so very friendly and kind, making us feels like part of the family. They go out their way to
take excellent of us. The grounds are beautifully maintained and private making it easy to relax. The complimentary breakfast offers a great combination of fresh fruit, cereal, boiled eggs, pastries, coffee, juice, etc. - a perfect way to start the day. We love the location and convenience to everything. It's an easy walk to Duval and the harbor area. We recommend Westwinds to everyone." The Brocks
"The Westwinds Inn was highly recommended by friends who stay there often. Since we rely heavily on the Trip Advisor ratings for U.S. and foreign travel, we were put off by the numerical ranking. But, when we talked directly with Danny by phone, we decided to "take a chance". Are we ever glad we did! The staff was warm and helpful. Our rooms, #110 and #111, overlooked and were steps from the lovely little pool, which is in a picture-perfect tropical setting. We were fortunate to be directed by the staff to park in one of the available spaces right in front of the Inn. We never moved the car until we left. We walked everywhere! The location is excellent - close to Duval Street, but along a street with picturesque private homes. We're already anticipating when we can make the trek from Oregon back to the Westwinds Inn!" (Salem, Oregon)
"My friend and I stayed here August 15 - 17, 2011. It was very easy to find. Upon arrival you walk up to this beautiful 2 story colonial style house. You walk through the front door and that is where you check in. Once checked in you walk out of the 2 story house and to the assigned room/bungalow. We were in 111 which is located in the back with a gorgeous view of the pool. Both pool areas were very lush and tropical and you felt like you were in your own private island oasis getaway. I think the pool area was definitely our favorite part of the trip. The breakfast in the morning was also very yummy! They had fresh tropical fruit every morning and the best pastries! They also had some other goodies you could have for breakfast. Westwinds was also a very short walk from Duval Street which was very convenient as we didn't want to have to go through the hassle of trying to find parking. This was our first time here and we will definitely be back!!!" (Amber from Lakeland, FL)
